Blur have introduced they are going to be enjoying at Wembley Stadium subsequent summer season. The gig will happen on July 8, marking their solely UK look of 2023 and first headline present since 2015. Tickets go on basic sale from 10am on Friday, November 18.
“We actually love enjoying these songs and thought it’s about time we did it once more,” frontman Damon Albarn mentioned in a press release. Guitarist Graham Coxon added, “I’m actually wanting ahead to enjoying with my blur brothers once more and revisiting all these nice songs… blur stay reveals are all the time wonderful for me. A pleasant guitar and an amp turned proper up and a great deal of smiling faces…”
Bassist Alex James commented: “There’s all the time one thing actually particular when the 4 of us get in a room. It’s good to assume that on July 8 that room will likely be Wembley Stadium.”
And drummer Dave Rowntree mentioned: “After the chaos of the previous couple of years, it’s nice to get again out to play some songs collectively on a summer season’s day in London. Hope to see you there.”
Blur’s newest album, The Magic Whip, got here out in 2015. Albarn is gearing as much as launch a brand new album with Gorillaz, Cracker Island, in February; that very same month, Coxon will challenge his debut album with THE WAEVE, his mission with former singer-songwriter Rose Elinor Dougall. Rowntree’s debut solo file, Radio Songs, will arrive in January.
