Robyn Hitchcock has shared a brand new track referred to as ‘The Raging Muse’. It’s taken from SHUFFLEMANIA!, his first album in 5 years, which comes out October 21 through Tiny Ghost Data and consists of the early single ‘The Shuffle Man’. Give ‘The Raging Muse’ a hear beneath.
“Songs come to me alive and flickering, recent from the lake of my unconscious. I’m a compulsive author,” Hitchcock defined in a press release. “‘The Raging Muse’ was written in Nashville in 2020. It started life as a sketchy residence recording, simply me and my previous Telecaster – the identical guitar I performed on ELEMENT OF LIGHT again in 1986 – this time round faithfully engineered by Tubby and Ringo. As soon as I had the bones of the track, I despatched it to my pal Davey Lane in Melbourne, who fleshed it out with spiky lead guitar, after which onto Charlie Francis in Cardiff, who added the melodramatic piano and bagpipes. The fish within the grass on this track are one in all my many recurring desires, I’m certain they’ll seem once more quickly.”
