Forward of Independence Day, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday modified profile photos of its social media accounts to the nationwide flag from its conventional saffron flag.
Because the nation is celebrating the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to mark 75 years of India’s independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged folks to place the ‘Tiranga’ because the profile image of their social media accounts between August 2 and 15.
The RSS, the political fountainhead of the ruling BJP, has been criticised by the Congress and different Opposition over its stand on the nationwide flag.
In an apparent reference to the RSS, Congress basic secretary Jairam Ramesh requested earlier this month if the organisation that didn’t hoist the nationwide flag at its headquarters in Nagpur for 52 years would adjust to the prime minister’s message to make the ‘tiranga’ the profile image of social media accounts.
On Friday, RSS publicity division co-incharge Narender Thakur mentioned the Sangh has been celebrating Independence Day in any respect its places of work by hoisting the nationwide flag.
The Sangh modified its profile image on the social media to the nationwide flag from its organisational flag.
