New Delhi: Forward of Independence Day, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Friday modified profile footage of its social media accounts to the nationwide tricolour from its conventional saffron flag.
Because the nation is celebrating the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to mark 75 years of India’s independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged individuals to place the ‘tiranga’ (tricolour) because the profile image of their social media accounts between August 2 and 15.
The RSS, the ideological fountainhead of the ruling BJP, has been criticised by the Congress and different Opposition events over its stand on the nationwide flag.
In an apparent reference to the RSS, Congress common secretary Jairam Ramesh requested earlier this month if the organisation that didn’t hoist the nationwide flag at its headquarters in Nagpur for 52 years would adjust to the prime minister’s message to make the ‘tiranga’ the profile image of social media accounts.
On Friday, RSS publicity division co-incharge Narender Thakur stated the Sangh has been celebrating Independence Day in any respect its workplaces by hoisting the nationwide flag.
He additional stated RSS employees had been actively collaborating within the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ marketing campaign.

Earlier, RSS publicity division head Sunil Ambekar had stated such issues shouldn’t be politicised.
The RSS has already prolonged its help to ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programmes. The Sangh had in July appealed for full help and participation of the individuals and swayamsevaks within the programmes to be organised by the federal government, non-public our bodies and Sangh-related organisations, Ambekar had stated.
